Common Shares

Through Common Wealth Credit Union’s new Common Share program, you are now able to purchase shares. Common Shares are valued at $1 each. A minimum purchase of 1,000 shares is required and a maximum purchase is $20,000. Shares are RRSP eligible.

Dividends are set annually by the Board of Directors. Dividends are paid in the form of additional shares, until the maximum sum of $200,000 per member is reached, at which time dividends are paid out in cash.

Common share dividends are classed as interest income by Canada Revenue Agency.
